Jerry Seinfeld has become significantly influential to me over the past 6 years. I constantly try to emulate his joy in the simple things, savoring all the moments that life blesses us as people with on a daily basis. Whether it be friends, family, or simply God providing us a moment of peace and clarity.
Yet so many times in life, I've developed the habit of standing still and trying to capture the awe-inspiring moments, only to be left with a blur in the end. The idea is comparable to taking a picture involving motion. When an object is moving and you attempt to capture it, the overall image becomes blurred and minimized in its grandeur.
Instead of fully enjoying whatever God has blessed me with, I always feel the need to capture the moment and move on. So instead of living in the fluidity of God's blessings, I am left with a box of blurry snapshots; unrecognizable, indistinguishable, and uninspired at their very least.
My aim is to rescind this limited view of God's providence and redeem it with an open view of God at work in my life. The best, and only, way is start back at "oval seven". Seinfeld uses this phrase as an equivalent to "square one". Wherever I have reduced God in my eyes, may they be expanded and aware that He is Lord and desires that I follow Him on life's journey.
I am pleased to say that I have accomplished this over the past week, only to realize so much more of Him. His desire to see His creation full of joy is impressed on my heart. I wish to retire my box of blurs and take on the clarity of God's blessings.
